Originally a duo created by excellent improvisers, pianist Witold Oleszak and drummer Aleksandra Rzepka. Witold prepares his instrument, but also uses various objects to play,. Alexandra, in addition to an extensive drum set, also plays the zither. They are both fascinated by everything that is ambiguous and undefined in music. They feel as comfortable in free improvisation as they do in studying the music of Anton Webern, Schoenberg’s student and co-founder of serialism. Although they could engage in intellectual speculations about music, what they do is as follows: “the most important thing is the breath before the lion’s roar.” During the festival, the duo will perform with a guest appearance by Swiss guitarist Florian Stoffner.
